A Dance with Dragons - Darcy Nelson
In the fifth installment of A Song of Ice and Fire series Martin takes us back to the Seven kingdoms to dance with the dragons and our favorite characters.

Sometimes it can be hard to tell a good story and keep it entertaining. However, Martin is one of the few author's who continues to do that five books into the series. This book focuses on all of the Seven Kingdoms from the Lannisters at King's Landing to Beyond the Wall, and over to Slaver's Bay and Braavos. Not all of the characters we have come to love are in the book, but a majority of them are and you will not believe what they are up to now.

Content:

Language: The world where the Seven Kingdoms exists has already been established by the last four books, so the diverse languages of the world are already developed enough and depending on where the characters are these languages are spoken. Martin continued telling the story from multiple perspectives. I would give language a rating of 8 out of 10 because it is consist with the series, but it is not anything new.

Character Development: I have read the entire series up to this point and the characters seem like real people to me.None of them are perfect or make the best choices all the time, but this is not a fairy tale, it is in some ways a tragedy. I think that being able to write this way is a goal of all authors and Martin does it magnificently. For this reason I give character development a rating of 10 out of 10.

Plot: Many different parts of the plot were presented and revealed. However, at the end of the book I still had questions about certain events or situations that the characters were in. The plot of this book was good, but it was not the best that I have seen out of Martin. Overall, I love the story line of the series, but the parts of the story line of this book is not my favorite. I give the plot a rating of 8 out of 10.

Easy to read?: Even though this books is close to 1000 pages I thought it was very easy to read. Mos of the reason is that by the time I got to this point in the series I have become invested and interested in the characters. While reading this book I would sit down to read it and not notice that two hours had gone by. Since I became so engrossed in the book I will most definitely give it a rating of 10 out of 10 as far as being easy to read.

Should you read this book?

After reading this book I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy series and can handle the different perspectives. However, before you read this book make sure you read the first four. Overall, I give this book an average rating of 9. I figured this by averaging the ratings for language character development, plot, and easy to read.
